Autumn is here, my favourite season of all. The leaves are changing colour, pumpkin spice is in the air and Halloween is just around the corner! I have put together a list of 10 of my favourite crochet Halloween patterns and projects that I think you should try- from beanies to amigurumi, appliqués to wall hangings- there really is something for everyone.

In recent years I have become a big fan of Halloween. People in our neighbourhood take Halloween very seriously and I love getting involved. Each year we get bigger and better with our house decorations and this year I have a list as long as my arm of crochet Halloween patterns that I would like to complete.

#1 – The Sister Witches Appliqués by Nella’s Cottage

Nella’s Cottage is my go-to for appliqué patterns and ‘The Sister Witches’ bundle based on the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus has to be one of my favourites yet! They are so versatile, add them to a blanket, wall hanging or even a wreath (that’s what I’m hoping to do!)

#2 – Frankenstein Wall Hanging by Disco Sloth Designs

I am obsessed with wall hangings and I really enjoy working with the C2C stitch. Disco Sloth Designs has so many amazing patterns including the colourful Frankenstein wall hanging.

#3 – Squashed Witch Pot Holder by The Crafter Life

I fell in love with this squashed little witch as soon as I saw her. This is a quick little project that would be the perfect accessory to any party.

Set your sweetie dish on top of this for a great, eye-catching centre piece! I think smaller ones would make great coasters also…

#4 – Pumpkin by Bella Coco Crochet

Last year I saw cute little crocheted pumpkins all over my feed but as a fairly new crocheter I convinced myself I wouldn’t be able to make one. If only I had found Bella Coco’s YouTube tutorial sooner! I shall be following this to make a whole pumpkin patch this year!

I am a Mum of 2 and whilst they are still young I just love to dress them up in cute outfits at Halloween. This quick and easy crochet pumpkin sweater vest would be an amazing addition to any little ones Autumn wardrobe.

#6 – Pumpkin Rattle by A Crafty Concept

My youngest is only 4 months old and he is at the stage where he is starting to grab toys and shake things. I will be making him one of these adorable pumpkin rattles for sure. I think they would make a great baby shower gift for babies due this Autumn/Halloween.

Bonus Stashbusting project: Pompom bunting!

Make pompoms in all of your favourite Halloween themed colours, I’m thinking orange, black, purple, white and green and make yourself some super simple pompom bunting. Drape it all around your room to really get you in the Halloween Party mood.

If you try any of the crochet Halloween patterns that I have shared I would love to see them! Tag me @humbly.crafted and @lovealyuk and of course the original designers of these patterns to share your creations with us.

Have a spooktacular Halloween!
